Outstanding performance in major safety programs
The U.S. NCAP evaluates vehicles using standardized crash scenarios, focusing on frontal impact, side impact and rollover risk. The Audi A6 e-tron achieved excellent results across all three categories. Particularly noteworthy is its side-impact performance, with an injury risk of only 2.0 percent. Side-impact collisions are among the accident scenarios associated with the highest risk of injury worldwide. The coveted five-star rating is awarded only to vehicles whose risk of serious injury is significantly below the thresholds defined by the NHTSA.
Five stars on both sides of the Atlantic
With its five-star U.S. NCAP rating, the Audi A6 e-tron continues its success story in vehicle safety assessments. The model had already earned the highest rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP test in 2025. In April 2026, it also received the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award. Together, these three distinctions underscore the vehicle’s outstanding safety credentials.
However, the results are not directly comparable. While the U.S. NCAP primarily focuses on traditional crash scenarios, Euro NCAP also evaluates aspects such as driver assistance systems and the protection of vulnerable road users, particularly children. The significance of these additional assessment criteria is reflected in the Audi Q6 e-tron’s performance. With a score of 92 percent for child occupant protection, it achieved “Best in Class” status among all vehicles tested in 2023 and 2024. For its TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, the IIHS likewise assesses safety aspects beyond crash performance alone, including driver assistance technologies, pedestrian protection, and headlight performance.
